What’s new
What shipped in Kubepier Web and Kubepier Desktop since launch, newest first. The web updates itself for everyone; the desktop app updates itself on Windows and Linux and lets you know on macOS.
Web — 2026-10-08
- AI diagnosis: a 7-day trial for each user of a Pro or Team organization (14-day free trial included), with no key to set up, using TR’s OpenAI key (gpt-4o-mini) with up to 30 diagnoses a day. The 7 days count per user, from their first diagnosis that reaches the provider, with a monthly trial quota shared by all users. Events and logs only go after the preview. A Pro or Team organization with its own key does not use up the trial. After that, Pro and Team add their own key. Free has no AI. New AI analyses screen in the cluster menu: failing pods with a Diagnose with AI button and the history of your analyses, kept only in the browser.
- Audit log: a new Setup and billing group (add, edit and remove clusters, Clients, credentials and cloud accounts, sync accounts, subscribe and cancel a plan), metadata only. Deleting a resource asks for its typed name. Team and invites on Team only, and the 14-day free trial is once per organization.
- Node shell on the web too: on Pro and Team, admins only, after typing the node name. An ephemeral pod in kube-system, deleted when the terminal closes or within 2 hours; the session goes to the audit log (Opened/Closed node shell). Windows, Fargate and virtual-kubelet nodes are rejected, and clusters that block privileged pods (Pod Security, Azure Policy, Gatekeeper, Kyverno) reject the node shell.
Desktop — next version (2.7.0)
- AI diagnosis: the same 7-day trial as the web, for Pro or Team organizations, with the 30-a-day cap shared with the web. Signed in without your own key in the keychain, the diagnosis goes through the Kubepier API to OpenAI, with the context redacted in the app and again on the server; with your own key, it goes straight from your machine to the provider. The AI analyses screen comes to desktop too, with the history kept only on your computer. Without your own key, when the organization has one, the desktop app uses the organization’s key through the Kubepier API.
- Free is truly read-only: the plan is checked in the app’s main process, and the local terminal, creating resources, Helm (install, upgrade, rollback and uninstall) and the Lens Metrics installer need Pro or Team.
- Roles: the role comes with the licence. A Team organization member is read-only, as on the web; admins do everything, and delete, force, finalize, drain, node shell and Helm uninstall ask for the typed name.
- Local audit of Helm, port-forward and the local terminal too.
- Node shell with an alpine image pinned by digest, at most 2 hours and no ServiceAccount token.
- The DevOpsRaiz credit in the status bar shows on Free only.
Not published yet. Until it ships, AI diagnosis on desktop stays on the paid plans, with your own key.
Desktop 2.6.0 — 2026-10-06
- Presentation mode: also blurs the audit Who column, paths (your home folder shows as ~), the account name in the status bar, clients in Preferences › TR › Clientes and the AI diagnosis preview.
- Free plan: specific upgrade notices, the same as on the web — AI, live logs, shell, data-service actions, queue dashboard charts and the secure tunnel.
- More pt-BR labels: Port Forwarding, Helm chart details and install, wizard buttons, CronJob Trigger, Node Shell and Preferences › Application.
Desktop 2.5.0 — 2026-10-05
- Local audit: a new Audit tab in Preferences › TR, with filters (period, action, cluster/client, search), 100 per page, CSV export and Open folder. Same actions and labels as the web Audit screen; presentation mode blurs cluster, client and target.
- Portuguese and Spanish: confirmation dialogs (delete, force, restart, suspend/resume, drain), scale, Helm (menu, rollback and notices), port-forward and the dock + menu.
Desktop 2.4.0 — 2026-10-05
- Free plan: paid actions show with a lock and an upgrade notice, as on the web, instead of dropping out of the menu.
- Clients: removing a client asks for confirmation.
- Portuguese menus: menu labels show in pt-BR.
Desktop 2.3.0 — 2026-10-05
- Redis: when the connection fails, the screen shows the server’s real error. A wrong password shows as WRONGPASS (an authentication error), no longer as Connection is closed.
Web — 2026-10-05
- Audit: a screen with filters (period, user, client, cluster, action and result), search and CSV export. Admins see the whole organization; members see only their own entries; on Free, your own entries from the last 7 days. Shell closes and team changes are now audited.
- Redis: when the connection fails, the screen shows the server’s real error (a wrong password shows as an authentication error).
- Queue dashboard: the Panel tab in the RabbitMQ and Service Bus menus, with totals and counts on Free and rates, trend, charts and alerts on Pro and Team. Admins set each queue’s backlog threshold.
- Through the cluster connection route: RabbitMQ, Service Bus, MongoDB and Redis on a private network, through a restricted relay in one of the client’s clusters.
- host_privado right away: a host that resolves only to a private IP is refused before connecting, without waiting for a timeout.
- conexao_encerrada: a connection closed by the server gets an explanation (firewall, TLS or port) and the "Connect through the cluster" suggestion.
- Redis: TLS without a port uses 6380, the TLS box also applies to connection strings, and the Azure portal format is accepted.
- Redis: the real error shows when the connection fails. A wrong password (WRONGPASS) is now an authentication error, no longer conexao_encerrada.
Desktop 2.2.0 — 2026-10-05
- RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, MongoDB and Redis menus on each client, with the same rules and limits as the web.
- Queue dashboard for RabbitMQ and Service Bus, with the backlog threshold kept on your machine.
- Secure tunnel: localhost on your machine to a cluster Service or a host in the cluster network.
- AI diagnosis with events and logs, with consent, a preview and secret redaction. The AI key moves to the OS keychain.
- Redis on Azure Cache: TLS on port 6380 and the portal connection string format.
- Local audit (kubepier-audit.log) of cluster actions, shells, tunnels and service actions.
- Service access lives only in the OS keychain, and a single licence rule applies to every paid feature.
Web — 2026-10-04
- Fixed egress IPs on every plan, with the Network and security menu.
- RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, MongoDB and Redis menus on each client, with each service’s access in one encrypted blob.
- Bastion: a terminal in a restricted pod inside the cluster, to reach hosts in the client network.
- AI diagnosis with the organization key, and events and logs with consent and a preview.
- An internal panel for the TR team (subscriptions, trials, desktop versions and downloads), limited to authorized GitHub accounts. Nothing changes for organizations.
Desktop 2.1.0 — 2026-10-04
- The first version with a fixed number in the installers; it gathers what shipped in the 2.0.x builds.
- Sign-in with the same account as the web: the organization’s plan applies on desktop.
- Automatic updates on Windows and Linux (.deb) and a new-version notice on macOS.
- Pod Dependencies panel: Kafka, SQS, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Redis read from the container variables and the ConfigMaps they reference.
- Presentation mode: blurs client, cluster, namespace, node and IP names.
Web — 2026-10-02
- Desktop sign-in with the web account, through a code approved in the browser, and the device list at app.kubepier.com.br/desktop.
- Cancelling a subscription keeps the paid plan until the end of the period already paid.
- Desktop usage records and installer download counts.
Launch — 2026-10-01 (Web and Desktop 2.0.x)
- Kubepier Web at app.kubepier.com.br, with GitHub sign-in and the Free, Pro and Team plans, billed through Mercado Pago.
- Kubepier Desktop 2.0.x, based on Freelens, for Ubuntu/Debian (.deb), Windows (.exe) and macOS (.dmg, Apple Silicon and Intel): client catalog, usage, filterable events, pod queues and AI diagnosis from the pod status.
- A new-version notice on desktop and installers with the version in the file name.
