A k9s alternative for when the terminal is not at hand
k9s is an open source, keyboard-driven terminal UI for Kubernetes (K8s): fast for people who live in the terminal, but tied to the machine with the binary and the kubeconfig. Kubepier covers the rest of the time: any browser, your phone and the whole team.
When k9s is enough
If you work alone, from your laptop, and prefer keyboard shortcuts to clicks, k9s does the job very well. Kubepier does not replace the terminal; it covers the moments you are not in it.
What Kubepier adds
- Any browser and your phone, with no binary to install and no kubeconfig to copy.
- Failing pods and warning events at the top, with the reason (CrashLoopBackOff, OOMKilled, ImagePullBackOff) in the status column.
- CronJobs with their last run and whether they are suspended, and Jobs completed, failed or running.
- Clusters grouped by client, with AKS and EKS imported straight from the Azure or AWS account.
- The pod’s RabbitMQ and Azure Service Bus queues and MongoDB health.
- On Team, each person signs in with GitHub and only sees the clients assigned to them.
Both together
Many people use both: k9s on the laptop for daily work, Kubepier on the phone and in the browser for on-call and for the team. Both read the same cluster through the same API, and nothing is installed in the cluster.
