Install

Install Kubepier Desktop

Kubepier Desktop runs on Ubuntu/Debian x64, Windows 10/11 x64 and macOS, on Macs with Apple Silicon (M1 and later) or Intel.

Linux (Ubuntu and Debian)

Download the .deb package and install it with apt, which resolves the dependencies:

sudo apt install ./kubepier_latest_amd64.deb
  • Then open Kubepier from the applications menu.

Windows 10 and 11

Download the .exe installer and run it. The installer is not signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn you on the first run.

  • Click "More info".
  • Click "Run anyway".

macOS

Download the .dmg for your Mac (Apple Silicon for M1 and later, Intel for older ones), open it and drag Kubepier to Applications. The app is not notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first launch:

  • In Applications, right-click Kubepier and choose "Open".
  • In the warning, click "Open". From then on it opens directly.
  • If macOS does not show an "Open" button, go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway".

Connect your clusters

Kubepier reads the kubeconfig on your machine (~/.kube/config). To bring cloud clusters into the kubeconfig:

az aks get-credentials --resource-group <group> --name <cluster>
aws eks update-kubeconfig --region <region> --name <cluster>

Set up your clients

  • Open Preferences › TR Clients and add each client with a name, a color and a keyword.
  • The keyword recognizes the client from the context name. A cluster whose name lacks the keyword can be assigned in its details drawer.
  • To see the pods’ queues, give the client the RabbitMQ management URL or the Azure Service Bus connection string.

Turn on usage and AI

  • If the cluster has no metrics-server, Kubepier offers to install it and shows what will change first.
  • For AI diagnosis, open Preferences › TR AI, pick Claude or GPT and enter your API key.
