Pod logs
Any container’s log, from the browser, your phone or the desktop app. On Free, the web shows the recent lines; on paid plans, the log follows in real time.
What it does
- Web: open the pod and pick the container. On Free, the recent lines show up. On Pro and Team, the Live button follows the log in real time, with a timestamp on each line.
- Desktop: the logs button in the pod list and the Freelens logs panel show up on the paid plans.
Limits and timeouts
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Recent lines (web) | 300 by default, 1 to 5,000 |
| Live (web): initial lines | 500 by default, up to 5,000 |
| Live (web): session length | 30 minutes; then open it again |
| Live (web): sessions per person | 5 at once |
What is not accepted
- Live logs on Free. On desktop, Free shows no logs.
- Namespace, pod or container names outside the Kubernetes format.
Audit
Reading logs does not change the cluster and is not audited. The log passes through the screen and is not recorded by Kubepier.
Permissions you need on your side
get on pods/log in the pod’s namespace.
Common errors
- "too many logs open": you already have 5 live sessions; close one.
- The session stopped after 30 minutes: that is the limit; click Live again.
- 403: the credential lacks get on pods/log.
