Get started with Kubepier Desktop
Kubepier Desktop is the Kubernetes IDE for Linux, Windows and macOS, based on Freelens. It uses your machine’s kubeconfig and signs in with the same account as the web.
1. Install
Download the .deb (Ubuntu/Debian x64), the .exe (Windows 10/11 x64) or the .dmg (macOS Apple Silicon or Intel) from the install page.
2. Sign in
On first launch, the app shows a code. Approve it in the browser, at app.kubepier.com.br, with the same GitHub account as the web. The organization’s plan applies to the desktop: read-only on Free (from 2.4.0 on, paid actions show with a lock and an upgrade notice; up to 2.3.0, they do not show; from 2.7.0, the lock also covers the local terminal, creating resources, Helm and Lens Metrics, and a Team organization member is read-only too). Until you sign in, the sign-in screen covers the app.
3. Open the clusters
The desktop app reads your machine’s kubeconfig (~/.kube/config), including contexts with exec plugins such as kubelogin, aws and gke-gcloud-auth-plugin. To bring cloud clusters in:
az aks get-credentials --resource-group <group> --name <cluster>
aws eks update-kubeconfig --region <region> --name <cluster> 4. Add your clients
Under Preferences › TR Clients, add each client with a name, color and keyword and, optionally, the access to its services. The catalog groups clusters by owning client.
Without internet
Clusters are reached straight from your machine. A confirmed Pro or Team licence stays valid for up to 7 days without talking to the server, for every paid feature.
